The protagonist Shen Du's forbearance and guilt are portrayed very realistically, and multiple clues are intertwined smoothly. Su Wan's autopsy reasoning and Gu Changyuan's hidden plot layout have complete logic. The foreshadowing is very subtle, and the seemingly unrelated little things at the beginning can all correspond to the main plot in the later stage. The intrigues in the court and the unjust cases at the border are naturally combined. The characters are not flattened. It is slow to read but the more you read, the more interesting it becomes. It is worth following up.
