The protagonist is a young restorer from the Cultural Relics Restoration Bureau of the Forbidden City. He has the special ability to "trace an object's origins" - as long as you touch an ancient object, you can see the key historical scenes it has experienced. During a routine restoration, he saw traces of modern tomb robbing tools that should not have appeared on a bronze vessel, and thus discovered a cultural relic smuggling network spanning several provinces. He talks to thousand-year-old cultural relics on the restoration platform during the day, and turns into an "artifact hunter" at night, using his restoration skills and tracing abilities to track the whereabouts of stolen national treasures.
