To me, the author, a gambling table is the filthiest place in the world. The cardsharps in casinos are demons. They will do whatever it takes to lure you to the table, then do whatever it takes to empty your pockets and leave you bankrupt.
In this world, wherever there's gambling, there's always a way to cheat you. Don't hold on to even the slightest hope that you might get lucky. You think you're playing a game of chance, but the cardsharps at the table already have you wrapped around their fingers. The moment you sit down, you're a lamb led to slaughter.
I, the author Xiao Jiu, was born in a small mountain village in Northeast China. At least fifty people in our village made their living as master cardsharps. Our village was infamous for it. Growing up, Xiao Jiu saw far too many stories of gamblers losing everything and seeing their families destroyed. This story is meant to show everyone who reads it just how filthy gambling tables are, and to help you understand why you should stay away from them and from anyone who tries to drag you to a casino.
