Awakening: I Refuse to Follow a Woman's Lot Anymore

[Ancient-to-modern transmigration + palace intrigue + redemption + female awakening + contrasting personalities]

[The heroine starts out a little clueless and ends up adorable VS the hero starts out a sly fox and ends up an even craftier wolf]

At eighteen, Empress Jiang Si is trapped by the rigid expectations of a virtuous wife.

Her makeup must be flawless and her clothes impeccable. She must walk without making her hair ornaments sway, sit up straight, and even control her smile to the perfect degree.

She must not be jealous. She must not overstep. She must not do this or that. There are rules for everything.

And yet she becomes the first empress in the Great Yuan Dynasty to be impeached by the Six Ministries for her conduct.

Seeing through the conspiracy, she risks her life to warn her family to beware their immoral ruler.

But she accidentally awakens a power that lets her travel freely between ancient and modern times.

That’s how she meets Zhou Shujin, who runs a bar,

and Mr. An, an antique dealer.

At first, Zhou Shujin teases her: “Little Jiang Si, loosen up a bit.”

Later: “Little Jiang Si, please tone it down.”

At first, Mr. An says, “I’ll take you to see the real world.”

Later: “Jiang Si, please take care of me. Don’t take care of anyone else.”
