Synopsis: Long Peng, one of Quanzhen’s most promising young disciples, is framed by Zhao Zhijing and Shen Zhifan. With no other choice, he jumps into a river to take his own life, but survives by sheer luck. Badly wounded, he drifts downstream until the fisherwoman Liu Lan rescues him. Taking the name Lin Dong, he rests and recovers aboard her fishing boat, though nearly all his cultivation was shattered by a single palm strike from Qiu Chuji. The boatman A Dao, jealous because he loves Liu Lan, comes to pick a fight. Despite his injuries, Long Peng easily overwhelms him. As the boat nears the dock, Long Peng bids Liu Lan farewell and sets off for Mount Wuliang in search of a chance to train. He swears a solemn oath to settle accounts with all his enemies in Quanzhen.
