A Journey Through Time: Mother and Daughter in 1958

A modern mother and daughter transmigrate together to a rural village in Northeast China in 1958, where they gain access to a "Weather Alert Space." Using agricultural technology, they change the course of a famine and uncover a mysterious connection between the mother, Fu Yuling, and the 1978 return of the educated youth to the cities.

Synopsis: In 2023, agricultural professor Zhao Yixuan and her mother, Fu Yuling, unexpectedly travel back to 1958, to a remote village in the Northeast. With a food crisis looming, they activate the "Weather Space," which can predict droughts and floods as well as speed up crop growth. Fu Yuling poses as an "old Chinese doctor" and uses modern nutritional knowledge to improve saline-alkali soil. Zhao Yixuan joins the production team as a "barefoot doctor," secretly promoting hybrid rice technology. In an era of scarce medicine and supplies, mother and daughter must battle natural disasters and overcome the villagers' suspicions of outsiders. In the end, they become "guardians of the harvest" who rewrite the history of the famine.
