Tycoon + wish-fulfillment + face-slapping + tech mogul + System + shared prosperity
If you ask what Nan County in Oil City has the most of, the locals will tell you: research institutes!
If you ask why a backward county would have research institutes, or even be able to develop high technology, the locals will answer: Mo Chi set them all up.
That’s right. With a billion a day, how do you think Mo Chi would spend it in a small county?
He chose high technology! In this backward county, he started developing cutting-edge tech.
Car factories, phone factories, chip-processing plants.
Building planes, rockets, and lithography machines…
So when the Lighthouse Nation investigated, they couldn’t believe that a company was taking on its entire technology sector all by itself.
It turned out to be just a door-selling business.
Many years later, a reporter asked, “Mr. Mo, are you really a door salesman?”
“Yes.”
“What do the doors you sell protect?”
“The nation’s gates…”
“Then what was your original reason for getting into technology?”
Mo Chi took a drag and slowly replied, “I just wanted to stay alive…”
