The head gardener of the Interstellar Federation’s tea gardens quit.
His reason: he wanted to go somewhere without war, intrigue, or missions, and quietly brew himself a cup of tea.
So Gu Xingci opened an unassuming little teahouse deep in an old street on Blue Star, also known as Earth.
He thought he could finally enjoy a peaceful retirement, spending his days basking in the sun, brewing tea, and daydreaming.
But...
A single sip of spirit tea from the cultivation world could break through bottlenecks, and sect leaders lined up to get some;
Moonlight black tea from the world of magic let people see their own hearts, sending psychologists into a frenzy of research;
A futuristic tea-brewing robot attracted the attention of tech companies around the globe;
Looking at the long queue outside his teahouse and the old street turned into a viral tourist attraction, Gu Xingci let out a long sigh toward the sky:
I just want to brew a cup of tea in peace. Why is that so hard?
Then, one late night as he was closing up, someone knocked on the teahouse’s back door.
A young man stood outside, covered in wounds, his silver hair disheveled and a broken sword clutched tightly in his hand.
The young man lifted his head. His golden eyes glimmered faintly in the moonlight as he rasped:
“...Could I have a cup of water?”
Gu Xingci looked at him, fell silent for three seconds, then turned and went into the teahouse.
When he came back, he was holding a freshly brewed cup of tea.
“We’re out of water,” Gu Xingci said, handing him the cup. “But we do have tea. Drink up, then tell me who you are.”
