I Picked Up a Crown Prince to Work as a Long-Term Laborer

[Two Male Leads | Transmigrate into a Book | Historical Court Intrigue | Sweet Romance, Comedy | 1v1]

Sharp-tongued, timid, complaining college boy bottom x Amnesiac, possessive, completely unhinged top

College student Shen Changyuan transmigrates into a novel featuring a character with the same name as him. In the book, he's a vicious cannon-fodder character who doesn't survive past chapter three.

According to the original plot, he is supposed to find the fallen Crown Prince Zhao Yi, then cruelly mistreat him while taking advantage of his amnesia. Once the Crown Prince regains his memories, he returns to court in a blaze of glory, and the first thing he does is behead the original Shen Changyuan.

When he sees the amnesiac Crown Prince, covered in blood, crash down from the sky into his own rice paddy and flatten a large stretch of crops, Shen Changyuan swallows hard. Following the principle, "If I keep my head down enough, the plot can't catch up with me," he decisively saves the Crown Prince.

And so the future Son of Heaven is forced to wear coarse linen clothes with sleeves that are too short, and begins a miserable rural life of chopping wood, feeding chickens, hunting wild boars, and more.

As time goes by, Shen Changyuan thinks, "Living like this for the rest of my life wouldn't be so bad."

Until one day, assassins come seeking revenge, and the Crown Prince suffers a serious head injury while protecting him.

When the man opens his eyes again, his gaze is cold and imposing. A bloodthirsty aura radiates from him, as if he looks down on all under heaven.

Shen Changyuan thinks his time has come.

But who could have guessed that after the tyrant regains his memories, he won't drop the act? Instead, he keeps pretending to be a fool under his "laborer" secret identity.

Later, the Crown Prince leaves without a word and returns to court to reclaim his power.

Shen Changyuan breathes a sigh of relief, thinking that from now on they'll go their separate ways. He's about to use the money he's saved to buy a few acres of paddy and live as a happy little landlord.

But a few days later, the Crown Prince has him dragged back to the Eastern Palace and tosses him a ledger.
