“She seemed pretty happy over there. After she wrapped things up in a month, she even spent some time traveling around K Country,” Namtan says as she eats barbecue.
Lingling Kuang suddenly looks perplexed. “Didn’t any of you try to stop her? She went so far away and stayed so long. Didn’t you miss her or worry about her?”
“Of course we did. What could we do? She can’t stay in one place. When she was little, all she looked forward to was going out and having fun. As soon as she finished her college entrance exams, she took her money and traveled around all the provinces in the country. Whenever she had free time in college, she’d go hiking and sightseeing. She’s just been a little more settled this past year, that’s all.” She says this with a faint, wistful smile.
“I never noticed before.”
“That’s because before you added her, she changed her Moments settings so you couldn’t see her posts. Before that, she used to post all the delicious food she ate and the places she visited. She even has a special notebook full of travel tips for every place. She likes her freedom, doing whatever she wants without anyone holding her back. No one can stop her. She was always bound to head for faraway places.”
“Listening to you, I feel like I don’t know your younger sister that well,” Lingling Kuang says with a sigh.
“Don’t say that. I don’t know her all that well myself. I used to think she loved traveling and seeing new sights. Then I asked her why she liked traveling. She said, ‘It’s so boring to stay in one place all the time.’”
