Tia is the most useless street urchin in the lowest ring of Hell. Her daily routine: rummage through trash, avoid bullies, and lie flat.

Then she picked up a boy who called himself Adam.

He said he used to be the most badass commander in Heaven's army, but now he was down on his luck.

“Once I've got my strength back,” the boy declared, chewing on the bread she'd given him, “all of Hell will be yours.”

Looking at his many wounds, Tia silently made room for him in her shabby little den:
