A modern office drone works himself to death, then awakens in the body of Yin Tang, Kangxi’s ninth son. From the start, he binds himself to a lie-flat sign-in System. He stays out of the way, and simply lying flat each day earns him rewards such as improved constitution, money and grain, and high-yield seeds.
The Crown Prince pushes people around, the Eighth Prince builds alliances, and the Fourth Prince schemes in secret. The princes are locked in a bloody struggle for the throne. Only he shuts himself away each day to drink tea and farm, opening money shops to rake in easy profits, and staying completely out of the succession struggle.
But the more he sees the Ninth Prince calmly slacking off, the more anxious Kangxi becomes. The court is full of princes fighting for power, while the Ninth Prince alone commands wealth enough to rival a nation and thousands of acres of fertile land with overflowing granaries, yet has no desire to become emperor.
With the Crown Prince deposed, the princes fighting among themselves, and the court in turmoil, Kangxi loses sleep night after night. He repeatedly sets aside his imperial dignity to persuade him. In the end, the entire court jointly recommends the Ninth Prince, and Kangxi, in desperation, issues a final edict forcing the man who wants nothing but to lie flat to ascend the throne and rule the country.
