Shen Bi was once a penniless scholar who repeatedly failed the exams and died in despair. After his death, a twist of fate landed him a clerical job in the underworld, where he was forced to clean up after powerful cultivators. He works overtime every day, writing case files as all sorts of eccentric cultivator ghosts line up to file complaints. A sword cultivator sobs over missing his mother, an alchemist repents for recklessly harvesting spirit herbs, and the little black judge frantically shifts the blame... Yet this lowly ghost clerk rises from the bottom and climbs the ranks.
