Synopsis

"Dietotherapeutic Materia Medica" is a very representative ancient dietary therapy book from the Tang Dynasty in my country. It was compiled by Meng Shen and supplemented by Zhang Ding. The book is divided into three volumes and systematically includes hundreds of daily foods such as grains, vegetables, fruits, animals and poultry, seafood, and seasonings. The book abandons ordinary medical science and is based on people's daily diet. It records the nature and taste of each ingredient, its edible effects, applicable diseases, dietary taboos and simple recipes one by one. Different from traditional Materia Medica, which focuses on medicinal materials, this book focuses on edible things, taking into account dietary supplements, dietary therapies, and external treatments.
