A Sea of Summer Exam Papers, Lucky to Walk the Same Road as You

[Sweet romance] + [Love] + [Regret]

Though this story has a System, it appears very rarely.

One night at Nanjiang University, Lin Zhixia suddenly finds herself back in the sweltering summer of her senior year of high school, bound to a mutual-devotion System. In her past life, the two of them had planned to attend Nanjiang University together, but for various reasons they were torn apart for good. They lost touch for three years, and regret took root in her heart. Given another chance, she refuses to miss the tenderness hidden in problem sets and breakfasts.

Jiang Can remembers how much he let her down in their past life. Every day, he prepares her a warm breakfast in advance, stays up late organizing math notes with three-color annotations for her, and secretly passes her notes during evening study sessions. Every word betrays his affection. The little moments between their desks, the quiet promises made when they’re alone on the sports field, and the unspoken understanding with which they look out for each other during exams gradually soothe the wounds of Lin Zhixia’s past.

They spend every day together, solving problem after problem side by side, and their sweet rapport draws envious looks. Zhao Qi, a student athlete, grows jealous. After several failed attempts to pick a fight, he secretly reports them to their homeroom teacher, convinced they’re dating. Fortunately, Lin Zhixia’s best friend, Zhao Wanqing, steps in as their scheming adviser. The three form a study group, working together to ease the teacher’s concerns and silence the rumors.

The pressure of exam preparation, other people’s suspicions, and sudden misunderstandings are not enough to drive them apart. Their scores on the fourth mock exam prove how hard they’ve worked together. Blunt confessions on notes and quiet praise whispered in each other’s ears bring all the feelings they’ve hidden beneath their mountain of textbooks into the open. Under the strain of senior year, they support each other, tackle difficult problems together, and pursue a shared goal.

The evening breeze carries the fragrance of camphor blossoms, while their notes fill with the feelings they haven’t dared to say aloud. The years they missed in their past life become, in this one, a road paved with endless practice problems and a promise made with sincere hearts. The young couple walks forward side by side, determined to fulfill their youthful vow to enter Nanjiang University together.
