Starlight Shining on the Mortal World

Many years later, Lin Yuanzhi stood in the depths of the starry river and remembered that afternoon in Yuancun.

It was a path of cultivation that sprang from the earth of the mountains in northern China. It held stories of people born in the seventies, eighties, and nineties, stories of geological survey teams, standing meditation from Xingyi boxing, a solitary lamp in the Temple of Lord Guan, the entrance to a Third Front munitions factory, a black stone that gave a faint pulse in the palm, and a girl who asked him, “Does a stone have a heart?”

Anyone can cultivate, and everyone has Buddha-nature. But from Qingxi River to the depths of the starry river, how far this path can take you ultimately depends on you.
