The regent is always following the emperor around, asking him this and that. He even spends all night asking questions in the emperor’s bedchamber. Whenever the emperor wants to favor one of his consorts, the regent pulls him aside to interrogate him, leaving him unable to enjoy their company. The ministers have started protesting, and the emperor can’t even get a good night’s sleep. So, in a fit of imperial rage, he orders the regent to share his bed.
