At twelve o'clock at midnight, clock towers all over the world rang simultaneously.
Some people aged sixty years overnight, some were trapped in the same day and couldn't wake up, and some were obviously still alive but completely forgotten by all their relatives and friends.
Shen Du was just a poor boy repairing watches. During the first clock disaster, he was forced to attend the midnight wedding of the gods.
The bride chases, the guests stand still, and the bells count down.
Everyone was waiting to die, but Shen Du discovered that he could borrow time from the future.
Sixty seconds a day.
You can save when you don't need it, you can overdraw when you're in a hurry, and you can even mortgage your memory and lifespan in desperate situations.
Others knelt down facing the gods and prayed.
Shen Du looked at the debt collection bill and smiled very much:
"I owe it first."
"When I live until tomorrow, I will consider whether to pay it back or not."
Later, the twelve clock masters came to drag the world into eternal stillness.
Shen Du rang the last bell and spoke to the world:
"Everyone, lend me a second."
"I'm going to make the gods repay my debt."
