Beyond the Sequence

A hundred years ago, a meteor fell, and a divine tomb appeared. The gods emerged and began feeding on humans.

From that day on, humanity became the gods' food. People retreated behind the walls and scraped by according to their “sequence” rankings.

Chen Jin, a grave cleaner at the very bottom of the wall, spends every day collecting the bodies of those killed by the gods beside the divine tomb, trading them for enough food to stay alive.

Then one day, in the depths of despair, he awakened a long-lost office: Sequence Arbiter.

He can see the “Sin Sequences” above every god's head and pass judgment with his own hands:

Those whose crimes are unforgivable are condemned to death. He devours them, claims their divine power, and feeds on them. Those who can still be of use are spared, added to his sequence, and turned into divine soldiers.

While everyone else kneels and begs the gods for mercy, he stands tall and assigns the gods their sequence of life and death.

Devour gods, command the pantheon, and ascend to the peak of the sequence. He will smash the ceiling of this world, which keeps humanity penned up like livestock.

“The gods reign supreme?”

“Only because I haven't added you to my sequence yet.”
