“What’s there to panic about?” Lin Mo raised his eyes, a faint glimmer in them. “Figure out its rules, and we can turn them into a way to survive.”

One classroom became the first fortress of the apocalypse.

Su Qingyuan laid down strict rules and established defenses. Jiang Zhe worked out antidotes and made equipment. Each member of the group put their talents to use. They went from defending a classroom to uniting the campus, and in the sealed logs of the science building, they glimpsed the brutal truth behind the “Divine Kingdom Project.”

“The city is divided among three major factions. The gray fog comes from the Lyman Tower at the center.”

“Then we’ll fight our way out.”

The “academics” left campus and took one careful step at a time across the wasteland.

Caught in sudden acid rain and tides of eerie fog, they fought for survival amid traps hidden in the rules. They expanded their territory through battles with rival factions, eventually uniting the entire city and bringing their troops to the door of the ultimate laboratory.

“Connect to the core and become the new god, or destroy the engine and gamble with the future of all humanity.” The orb at the heart of the tower issued its cold declaration.

Lin Mo looked back at his companions standing shoulder to shoulder with him. As the world channel filled with the words “Fight for freedom,” he reached toward the edge of the rules.

“I choose a third path: I’ll break your game and bring sunlight back to the world.”
