Brother, Don’t Hide from Me

Pretend siblings\Both each other’s first\Happy ending

“About How My Brother Loves Me to Death but Insists on Pretending to Be a Gentleman”

My name is Shen Nian. The bravest thing I’ve ever done was kiss my brother, Shen Yan, on his birthday. While he was drunk and completely out of it.

The first thing this man did when he woke up the next day wasn’t confront me. Instead, he had the lock on my bedroom door changed overnight, then sent me 520 yuan on WeChat with the note: “Money for a new lock. Remember to lock your door from now on.”

Wait, brother, are you worried I’ll climb into your bed at night, or that you’ll sleepwalk into my room?

I decided to start my “slowly melting my brother” plan.

I left a night light on every day, put a cup of warm milk on his desk, applied to the same graduate school he attended, rented the apartment next door, “happened” to show up at the table beside him when he went on a blind date, and laughed and flirted while holding a male classmate’s arm.

His face darkened. His fists clenched. At last, he cornered me in the hallway, his voice as hoarse as if he had sandpaper in his throat. “Shen Nian, are you determined to drive me to my death?” I rose onto my toes and leaned close to his ear. “Brother, your heart’s beating so fast.” And then... he ran away.

He! Ran! Away! Fine, Shen Yan, you win.
