The Transformation of All Things

After the brutal college entrance exams, Lin Zhi unexpectedly turns down her admission letter from the city's top high school and drags her suitcase back to the seaside town of Fengyu.

She thinks she's only returning to care for her grandmother, who's had a stroke. But on her very first day in town, she witnesses two hundred-meter-tall plastic sculptures shoot into the sky and fly into outer space to fight.

There's something off about this town, but somehow, none of it surprises her.

After school starts, she discovers that her deskmate can suddenly turn into Pig Hero during class; Lu Ye's father, Doctor Lu, can invent anything after transforming, and he has a robot sister; and the handsome boy Shen Ji, who wears his hair in a bun, is said to be able to transform into the Sea God King. Because of this power, rumors spread that he killed his father, who had abused him for years, in a storm-tossed sea. But Shen Ji stays silent and offers no explanation.

Everyone is hiding a secret. Some transform into magical girls using cards, one is the reincarnation of the Phantom Thief Kid, and some of her classmates can turn into magical girls. Lin Zhi, rumored to have inherited a plant-based transformation ability, can't activate the petal bracelet on her wrist no matter what she does.

Even more puzzling is her grandmother's cryptic remark: “For your own sake.”

Why did she come back here? Was it really just to care for her grandmother? What happened here to her mother, who swore she'd never set foot in Fengyu again? And what was her mysteriously missing grandfather's true identity? Will he ever return?

This is a story about sea breezes, secrets, and growing up. Everyone is protecting something in their own way, and Lin Zhi must learn how to find herself amid everyone else's brilliance.
