There weren't enough tags to choose from, so I could only tag this as a story with two female leads. The protagonists are two sisters, but their relationship is purely sisterly. The older sister's follower appears from time to time. In some chapters, the follower has a fairly prominent role, while in others they fade into the background and function more like a tool. Near the ending and in the extras, there will be a love story between the older sister and her follower. Their relationship may be GB (I haven't decided between BG and GB yet, but I personally lean toward GB).
As before, this is a rather chaotic world with the same broad setting as my previous book. Characters from the previous book may make guest appearances now and then. The legal boundaries are different, so characters may act very differently from people in real life. Don't imitate them or take this seriously. All settings are fictional, and any resemblance is coincidental. This especially applies to the older sister's past, which she keeps hidden. She isn't a truly good person; she's just an unapologetic sister-con. The follower loves her but won't help her unconditionally. The law is their bottom line.
After the amusement park closed, a car came to take the younger sister, Lu Qixue, away. Yan Jue was left behind, and the sisters were separated for twenty years.
Twenty years later, Lu Qixue had become a university lecturer. Her life was calm and stable, but she had gained a shadow she couldn't shake.
Her food deliveries were paid for automatically, and someone silently stood guard downstairs at night. That person had kept every trace of her from childhood to the present.
Lu Qixue was consumed by resentment: You abandoned me back then, and now you haunt me and won't leave me alone?
She confronted her coldly and stayed on her guard at every turn. Her words brimmed with hatred, but the longing in her heart had already begun to take root.
When she pursued an old case and found herself in danger, a sudden loss of contact made Lu Qixue drop every pretense and collapse into panic.
Only when Yan Jue returned, covered in wounds, did the truth buried for twenty years finally come to light.
