Blue Archive: The First Emperor’s Leisurely Life

(I’m sorry to see Black Beacon shut down. Regardless of everything else, I was quite fond of Ji Xia. It’s a shame he died so suddenly, so I’ll write another story. It probably won’t get dropped... probably?)

(Readers who haven’t played the game can treat him as a new character.)

Inside the Hatrast Ark,

Ji Xia and the teacher (first playthrough) sat facing each other.

The Ark was about to crash, but Ji Xia remained calm.

“I’ll leave the students in your care.”

“I’m afraid I can’t.”

“Why?”

“My end is coming too. Teacher, if you had the chance, would you still help them?”

“Yes. I wouldn’t regret it.”

“Good. Then I’ll leave the students to you. I can’t stay by their side the way you do.”

As an immortal, he witnessed everything the ancient people of Kivotos did.

If you ever meet him one day, why not go up and ask him?

Perhaps he’ll offer you a perspective you’ve never considered.

There is no one left in this world to ask after our well-being.

It was all over. Every danger lurking in Kivotos had been dealt with.

The teacher looked at Ji Xia before him, his heart a tangle of emotions.

“Like this...

It’s for the best...”

Ji Xia’s hand fell. His frozen time began to melt, like the first snow beneath the blazing sun.

His skin began to wither, and the blue-green eyes that had witnessed the turning of the sun and moon grew dim.

He had grown old...

He had reached the end he had long dreamed of.

At last, Ji Xia could tell his old friends all about what he had seen and heard along the way, and the splendid sights he had witnessed.
