My daughter disappeared three years ago. Everyone thought she was dead.
Then, during this year's college entrance exams, a teacher on the Chinese essay grading panel called the police, trembling all over.
A student had written in her essay:
“My biological mother has kept me locked in the basement for three years. This is my only chance to call for help.”
The essay included a detailed address.
When the police broke down the door, I was watching TV in the living room.
They found a girl behind the basement door.
But that girl wasn't my daughter.
And my house doesn't even have a basement.
