Synopsis

Shen Mo died, yet came back to life...

From a modern-day criminal investigator, he became the most hated wastrel in the Zhenxuan Bureau's Black Armor Guard in the Chenxi Dynasty. From the start, someone stabbed him in the street with a little golden sword, and he was locked in the same death cell as the Grand Tutor's granddaughter, whose entire family had been sentenced to death.

He fought his way out of the heavenly prison with the twelve-year-old girl and fled with her. The little sword recognized him as its master and could devour the spiritual power of those he killed to help him cultivate the family-inherited Severing River Fist. The girl he rescued carried a supreme treasure capable of summoning an army of a hundred thousand black-armored corpses, drawing a siege from the imperial court, heretical cults, and demons. From the witchcraft of the Southern Border to the demonic calamities of the Northern Frontier, Shen Mo honed himself through blood and fire, put down rebellions at home and abroad, and ultimately split open the Heavenly Gate with his sword.

“Shen Mo, why did you save me back then?”

“Because I can't stand seeing children bullied.”

“But now you've killed more people than the bad guys.”

Shen Mo wiped the blood from his sword and smiled. “Then it just proves that in this world, even the bad guys have to wait their turn.”

But just as he was about to reach the summit and the Heavenly Gate opened wide, he finally realized that the little golden sword had chosen him back then for a reason...
