Starting with Max-Level Cultivation, I Go on a Disciple-Recruiting Spree

Li Zhou opened his eyes.

Above him stretched an unfamiliar sky. Gray clouds hung low, and the air smelled of damp earth mixed with rotting plants. He was lying in a thicket, stones digging into his back, and the back of his head throbbed faintly.

He raised a hand and looked at it. Clean, without a trace of blood or even a scrape.

He sat up and looked around. He was in a mountain forest, where the trees were impossibly tall and their canopies blotted out the sky. A few stray rays of light filtered through the leaves. The sharp, lingering cries of unknown birds came from somewhere in the distance.

"I'm not dead?"

He remembered pushing a little girl out of the way, then a heavy truck's cab crashing into him. After that, there was nothing.

His mind suddenly buzzed.

A translucent screen appeared out of nowhere before his eyes. A pale blue interface hovered in midair, lines of text popping up on it.
