After the Little Taoist Priest Came Down from the Mountain, the CEO Took Him In

Lingshu grew up in the mountains, learning fortune-telling from his master.

Before he died, his master told him to go down the mountain. Wearing a Taoist robe faded from countless washes, he entered the city. A video of him asking, “Why won’t my phone light up?” went viral across the internet.

After he ran out of money, Lingshu set up a fortune-telling stall. He had only one rule: no money, no reading.

“You’ll suffer a bloody calamity within three days.” The owner of an influencer agency didn’t believe him, then landed in the hospital three days later after a flowerpot hit him.

Lingshu became famous, so famous that he even brought Lu Xing Shu, the Lu Corporation president who had been unconscious for a long time, back to life with a single reading.

When he cast the divination, he saw a line of karma at the end of the reading, one that was closely tied to him.

The first thing Lu Xing Shu did after waking up was buy out Lingshu’s contract.

“From today on, you’re under my care.”

Lingshu read the contract carefully, then looked up and asked, “Do you provide room and board?”

Later, Lu Xing Shu took him on a variety show, where Lingshu told fortunes for everyone he met.

The comments flooded the screen, but he didn’t notice a thing.

Until one night, Lu Xing Shu cornered him against a wall. “You’ve read everyone else’s fortune. When are you going to read your own?”

Lingshu blinked. “I can’t read my own fortune.”

Lu Xing Shu stepped closer. “Then let me tell you: I’m in your destiny.”

Much later, Lu Xing Shu knelt before his master’s grave. Standing beside him, Lingshu said earnestly, “Mm, I’ve read your fortune. You’ll never be able to leave me in this life.”

“...When did you read that?”

“The day we first met.”
