Once the league's ace sniper, Cen Ye was left with brain damage after a serious injury at a tournament, ending his chances of going pro. When he learned that official tournament qualifiers came with specialized rehabilitation therapy, he realized he could only cure his condition by playing enough eligible matches to qualify. So he hid his true skill and pretended to be a low-ranked, terrible streamer. During a ranked match, he ran into Ling Yan, the captain of a top team who was livestreaming his climb and short a sniper. At their first meeting, Ling Yan mocked Cen Ye for his poor rank, then suffered defeat after defeat because Cen Ye deliberately held back and dragged the team down. After the match, Ling Yan reviewed the footage and realized Cen Ye had been concealing his abilities and putting on an act the entire time. Once he uncovered the truth about Cen Ye's injury, he invited him to join the team and covered all his treatment expenses. Together, the two leads battled their way past the financial powers trying to crush them and led their team to the league championship.
