[Xianxia] [Jianghu]
Xiao Nie grew up on Bamboo Mountain. His master was an unreliable old man who spent all day drinking and fishing.
His master taught him to hide his abilities, and he hid them so well that even his master nearly believed it. Then his master sent him down the mountain, telling him to return in two years.
With an old sword and a white fox, he stepped into the Jianghu, only to discover that the entire Jianghu had put a price on his head. Teahouses, inns, and official roads were all crawling with people out to kill him. He knew neither the secret behind the sword nor his master's true past. All he could do was flee and press onward.
What he didn't know was that, beyond Bamboo Mountain, a hundred thousand pursuers were closing in on the mountain.
His perpetually drunk master stood alone on the summit, striking with his sword again and again to carve out a path to survival for him.
What he also didn't know was that his master had little time left.
The Four Sages had all entered the game. The Chess Sage sealed the situation with his own life, the Healer Sage burned through his life to save others, and the Painter Sage hid within a scroll. The entire Jianghu was converging on Bamboo Mountain, while the old man atop it wanted only to win his disciple one more day.
"Remember, your master will always be waiting for you on the mountain. When you have time, come back and visit."
But Xiao Nie didn't know whether Bamboo Mountain would still be there, or whether that person would still be there, when he could finally turn back.
In the battle at Bamboo Mountain, his master used his life as a chess piece, cutting off every path of pursuit behind him. And the old sword in the young man's hand had only just been drawn.
