When He Yushui opens her eyes, she is sprawled on a shabby bed in a courtyard house, her arms as thin as sticks.
It takes her three full days to accept reality: she has transmigrated back to 1951 and become a seven-year-old girl. But everything she knows about this era comes from scrolling through short videos before bed.
She soon realizes that something is off about her brother, He Yuzhu.
At this point, he is an apprentice at Fengzeyuan. Loud and straightforward, he is taken advantage of by everyone in the courtyard. That day, Yi Zhonghai is standing in the courtyard preaching again, saying that accepting a loss is a blessing and that one should respect one's elders. In the past, He Yuzhu would at least have argued back. Today, though, he just squats on the doorstep and watches the show, amusement in his eyes, as if he can see through everyone's little schemes.
Then one day, He Yuzhu says, "Your name wasn't He Yushui in your previous life, was it?" His expression is half-smiling, with none of a boy's innocence and all the worldly savvy of an adult.
Her heart leaps into her throat. Lowering her voice, she asks, "Brother, what year did you transmigrate from?"
"2023. You?"
"2024."
He Yuzhu whistles, finishes his porridge, and sets the bowl down on the floor. "Perfect. We've found an ally."
He Yushui is frantic. "I'm only seven. I can't help at all."
He Yuzhu stands up and dusts off his trousers, his eyes shining. "What's there to be afraid of? I've watched every episode of this courtyard's story. I know who's decent and who's a devil inside out! We've got decades more experience than these old fossils."
He Yushui's lips instantly curl into a smile.
"Brother, shall we get started?"
"Let's do it!"
Extremely bullshit
Overall it's pretty good, but it's a pity that the author doesn't know what the five black categories are. If he knew, Yi Zhonghai would never help the Jia family pay for it.
OK, don't read the introduction. Little classmate He Yuyu is an original aborigine, not a time traveler.
I'm speechless. Silly Zhu stopped working as an apprentice and helped out in the courtyard all day.
