Introduction to the work
In the summer when he turned eighteen, Jiang Yan had a new sister.
The stepmother moved into Jiang's house with ten-year-old Jiang Moran. The timid little girl hid behind her mother and called him brother. He was trapped in the shadow of his father's death in a car accident and had no expectations for this hasty family reorganization.
But the little girl's eyes are too clean. She would secretly bring him warm milk late at night, and would hesitate outside his study for a long time just to ask, "Brother, do you want some fruit?" Half a year later, her stepmother died of illness. The timid little girl cried until she fainted in the mourning hall. When she woke up, her first words were: "Brother, you don't want me anymore, do you?"
Jiang Yan hugged the ten-year-old girl into his arms and took a serious look at her features for the first time. They were unlike anyone else in the Jiang family.
He took over the company left by his father, and also took over this unrelated sister. He began to go through the formal adoption procedures, but when he retrieved the files, he discovered that there was only a hasty marriage agreement between his stepmother and the Jiang family. Jiang Moran and the Jiang family have nothing to do with everything in this family.
But he locked the document deep in the drawer.
For eight years, he pampered her to the point of being lawless. The best school, the most expensive painting supplies, and the most pampering company. Everyone knew that Jiang Yan had a sister who was untouchable and untouchable, and who was closer to her than his own biological daughter. On the night of her eighteenth birthday, she drank a little wine, lay on his lap and looked up at him, her eyes reflecting the lights of thousands of houses outside the floor-to-ceiling windows.
"Brother," she grabbed his shirt with her fingers, "you are not my biological brother, right? You already knew that, right?
