Synopsis

This story is entirely fictional and has no connection to real history.

Special forces soldier Jiang Ming is blown into the final years of the Eastern Han by a human bomb, and his soul enters the body of a young blacksmith who has just died.

When he opens his eyes, there are three whip marks across his back. A Xiongnu cavalryman is leading him by a rope. Nine women are tied to the same rope. The oldest is in her early twenties, named Cai Yan. The youngest is only fifteen or sixteen.

Chang'an is burning behind them. Dong Zhuo has just died, Li Jue and Guo Si are fighting over the city, and the Xiongnu are pillaging outside its walls.

Jiang Ming kills the Xiongnu soldier and flees into the Qinling Mountains with the nine women. They hunt, skin hides, build shelters, dig caves, forge iron, and make furniture, establishing a home in the mountains.

Each of the nine women has her own trade: making shoes, weaving cloth, twisting rope, cooking. Before long, Jiang Ming is living a carefree life with them.

Then one day, Jiang Ming finds a bamboo manuscript in a Han tomb. Thinking it might be a martial arts manual, he unrolls it, takes one look, slaps it on the table, and curses: “Why would anyone bury Cao Gui's Discourse on the Battle in a coffin?” After reading the manuscript, Cai Yan lowers it and looks him in the eye. “Jiang Ming, you're no blacksmith.”

This is the story of a special forces soldier who lives in seclusion in the mountains of the late Han Dynasty with nine women.

Until one day, Emperor Xian of Han, fleeing east, is driven into Jiang Ming's home by pursuers from Liangzhou.

You can hide from troubled times for a while, but not forever.

Jiang Ming decides to leave the mountains and help Liu Xie.

Any Three Kingdoms Novels About Loyalty and Righteousness, Without Endless Conspiracy Theories?

Are there too many conspiracy theories in Three Kingdoms stories these days? I seriously doubt these writers have even seen the old Three Kingdoms series. The characters dart around like a weather vane, then keep stumbling into ridiculous lucky encounters with beautiful women. I really can't stand this kind of thing. Does it actually make anyone like the characters?
