After chasing Tang Nianwei for two years, I thought she was just slow to warm up.
Delivering breakfast, doing homework, taking the blame, she took it all. I confessed my love three times, and she laughed three times and said "wait a little longer."
Until that day, I saw her and a boy entering a Sichuan restaurant across the street. On the phone, she said she was in the study room, her voice soft and as usual.
"Then you should go back early."
Hmm. I hung up the phone and put the cup of milk tea I was going to give her on the trash can lid.
That night I had a high fever, and I was all dizzy from the fever. There was a voice that kept buzzing in my ears in the dream, and I couldn't make out what it was saying.
After the fever subsided the next day, I discovered that I could hear other people's voices.
The sound was so noisy that I hid in the stairwell to get quiet. Then I heard another voice - the girl in the class who was so quiet that it was almost transparent. She was walking by the window, her ears so red they were bleeding:
"He seems not very happy today... Do you want to give him my candy?... No, no, no... But he has been very good-looking since kindergarten..."
Kindergarten?
I vaguely remembered one afternoon many years ago. There was a little girl squatting on the ground crying. I ran over and gave her a hand. I don't remember her face, I just remember that she cried so much that snot bubbles came out of her nose, and she was quite cute.
It turned out that that little girl had quietly liked me for ten years.
It turns out that the right person has always been by my side.
From today on, I listen to every word she has to say.
