Great Tang: I Took the Empress Dowager to a Brothel and Ran into the Emperor

He transmigrates to the Tang Dynasty during the Zhenguan era and becomes the Crown Prince, Li Chengqian.

Seeing his mother, Empress Zhangsun, working tirelessly day and night, he gets carried away and takes her incognito on a private outing, leading her straight into Chang’an’s biggest brothel.

But when he opens the door to the top room, he comes face-to-face with his father, Emperor Li Shimin, completely engrossed in a musical performance!

Three stunned faces. Utter silence!

Li Chengqian, mortified beyond repair, decides he has nothing left to lose. “What a coincidence, Father! Are you here to see how the common people live, too?”

Li Shimin draws his sword in fury. “You unfilial son! I’ll cut you down today!”

Empress Zhangsun smiles and smooths things over. “Your Majesty, please calm down. The world Chengqian has shown me is far more interesting than the inner palace.”

From then on, the Tang Dynasty goes completely off the rails!

Other crown princes watch every word and deed as they compete for the throne. He just lets loose and does whatever he wants!

He turns the brothel into the empire’s premier entertainment complex, teams up with Cheng Yaojin to launch “The Great Tang Voice,” and creates a stock exchange that leaves the Five Great Surnames and Seven Noble Houses with nothing but their underwear!

Years later, as envoys from every nation come to pay tribute and the imperial treasury overflows, Li Shimin sighs helplessly over a glass of red wine. “You unfilial son, when are you finally going to take the throne? I want to retire and play golf!”
