Lin Bei was a corporate drone whose dream was to lie flat, eat, and wait for death. Then one day, he discovered he could see a “Sanity Score” above people’s heads. A low score meant you were either insane or a monster in the making. Even more absurdly, he was recruited by a mysterious organization called the Anomaly Management Bureau and made an auxiliary investigator. From then on, his daily routine became: slack off at work, hunt monsters after hours, and gripe about why his coworkers were more trouble than the monsters. Think Cthulhu means tentacles and giant eyeballs? How naive. The real abyss is clients changing their demands, bosses making empty promises, and teammates dropping the ball at the worst possible moment. When the Old Ones started thinking like overworked office drones, Lin Bei decided to use sarcasm and reverse tactics to keep dancing along the edge of madness.
