You Picked Him, Blondie! So Why Are You Still Calling Me Dad?

A family mediation show knocks on the door of Lin Zimo’s home, where his daughter, Lin Xi, accuses him in front of millions of viewers of being a cold and heartless father.

For years, he has paid no attention to his daughter’s life and has never said a single word to her. Even when she jumps from a high-rise and lands motionless in a pile of garbage, Lin Zimo simply goes to work as usual, as though nothing has happened.

Lin Xi believes their relationship can still be salvaged. After all, they are father and daughter, bound together by blood. But even after she spends several months in the hospital, Lin Zimo never once comes to visit her.

Everyone urges him to make peace with his daughter. They are, after all, his own flesh and blood. It is only when Lin Xi threatens to kill herself that Lin Zimo finally softens and says the one thing he has to say: “Just don’t die in my house.”

The moment those words are spoken, millions of netizens erupt in fury. A torrent of abuse pours in, condemning Lin Zimo as someone utterly unfit to be a father.

But when the truth of the past comes out, revealing that Lin Xi, desperate to be with her boyfriend, a bleached-blond punk, ignored her father’s warnings and even personally caused her mother’s death, the whole internet is stunned. Everyone begins to understand the emotionally exhausted old father.
