(Two male leads + thousand-year-old ghost gong + little Taoist shou + devoted couple + past and present lives)
Shen Ningxu is a little Taoist priest who was taken in by his master as a child.
He’s a genius of the Taoist sect, but the least interested in cultivation. He hates getting tired, loves sleeping, and is an expert at slacking off.
Fed up with Shen Ningxu lazing around in the Taoist temple instead of cultivating, his master angrily sends him down the mountain to train. Shen Ningxu thinks he’ll just coast through life down there,
but then he encounters three lonely ghosts who died unjustly, leading him to a long-running series of murder cases in which the living prey on the living.
He only meant to help the wronged spirits, but ends up entangled with Song Jingxun, a thousand-year-old Ghost King whom no one else can sense, and who treats Shen Ningxu with gentle indulgence.
After going through a series of events, Shen Ningxu realizes that people are more terrifying than ghosts. He decides to seek justice for the wronged spirits and eliminate the wicked.
Somehow, though, he gets stuck with a male ghost, and a devastatingly handsome thousand-year-old one at that.
Shen Ningxu: “I came here to cultivate. How did I end up bound to a vicious ghost for life?”
The living conceal their evil, while ghosts bear their grievances.
The most poisonous thing in this world has never been evil spirits, but the human heart.
The whole world fears ghosts and gods,
but Song Jingxun alone bows his head to offer him endless tenderness and keep him safe and worry-free year after year.
I like this book written by the author. Come on, teacher.
The setting is not bad, the little Taoist priest and the ghost [think] look good.
Super super pretty
