Jiang Li, a graduate student in literature, witnesses a murder on a rainy night in Yunnan.
When she wakes up, she is already in the bed of Chachai, a Thai underworld boss.
“You killed one of my wolves,” he says, pinching her chin. “Now you owe me another.”
He forces her to train, forces her to shoot, and forces her to turn from a docile sheep into a cat with claws.
She thinks he is the hunter and she is merely the prey.
Until one day, someone points a gun at her head.
Chachai steps in front of her, blood dripping from his arm.
“I taught you to shoot so you could protect yourself. Not so you could die in my place.”
Jiang Li smiles and pulls the trigger.
“But I want to live for you.”
Later, everyone in Chiang Rai says Fourth Master keeps the fiercest wolf of all.
Only Chachai knows he was tamed by her long ago.
