Tragic ending.
Qin Zhou is an orphan. She always thought the world was simply rotten, which was why so many terrible things had happened to her. She lived one day at a time, thinking that if she died, then she died. The whole world could be her grave.
Later, she met her master and learned that someone could stay by her side forever. Her master taught her how to live, how to read fortunes, and many other things. But the one thing she never taught her was love. When Qin Zhou realized she had developed feelings for her master, she discovered that she, too, could be unwilling to let go.
She couldn't bear to die like that, so she stubbornly clung to her master. She couldn't bear for Qin Bujian to be only her master, so she screamed the question at her: “Why can't you and I be together? You cherish the flowers and plants on Xishan, watering them in summer and sheltering them in winter. You pity the stray cats and dogs and bring them up the mountain so they can escape this chaotic world. But why can't you love me? Why won't you love me?”
Qin Wuzai, too, thought Qin Bujian could remain nothing more than a good master, until one day she saw her junior sister kneeling in the ancestral hall before their master's portrait, saying, “Senior Sister, Qin Bujian, love unseen. People aren't plants or trees. Who can be without feelings?”
