Lend Me Twelve Years in the Tang Dynasty

On the rainy night I was laid off, I rescued a woman in a ruqun dress from the riverbank.

She said her name was Shen Jingwan, and that she came from a faraway place.

I didn’t believe her, not until she cursed me in a five-character quatrain, paid for takeout with silver ingots, and mistook the toilet for a torture device.

A well-read noblewoman from the Tang dynasty, she’s undocumented in the modern world and doesn’t even know how to scan a health code.

I taught her to use a smartphone, and she taught me what it means to be “a gentleman who is not a mere tool.”

I thought I’d rescued an ordinary woman.

Then she told me that on that night, she was fleeing disaster when she accidentally fell into the river.

I was the one who dragged her out of twelve hundred years ago and back into this world.

From then on, she barged into my life and changed it forever!
