When Snow Falls on Tianshan, a Singular Heartbeat

Slice of life, slow burn, gentle and healing female lead × steady top-student male lead, university history museum × campus radio station, a medical student's love story, sweet with no angst, mutual devotion

Some people say there's no romance in medical school.

Only endless medical terminology to memorize and specimens to identify.

Shangguan Chiyu thought so too.

Until she heard Ouyang Guyuan tell a story about an old professor at the opening ceremony

"I have no other talent. I only know how to do this one thing. So I'll do it well."

Later on.

He became the history museum's star guide, and she was the new announcer.

He wrote the scripts; she read them aloud to the whole university.

He helped her turn her gloves right-side out in the specimen room,

and drew simple anatomical diagrams on every sticky note.

She filled the corners of her notebook with tiny characters reading "Ou,"

and made every "pause for one breath" he marked

land at just the right moment.

Five years at medical school, with no melodrama and no misunderstandings.

Just specimens and formalin,

endless evening study sessions and three-kilometer runs.

And two people quietly drawing closer.

Later, someone asked how they got together.

He said, "She read every word I wrote correctly."

She said, "I made every breathing pause he marked."
