Yu Xian had both the acting chops and the looks, but remained a B-list nobody in the entertainment industry.
Hoping to turn his career around, he took on a two-male-lead drama.
He'd planned to audition for the first male lead, but the director insisted he play the second: a considerate, sensitive character.
The first male lead, however, remained uncast, and the production was on the verge of shutting down.
Then Yan Jin, an unemployed drifter with no agent or assistant, was dragged in by a terrible friend who happened to be an investor. After reading the script, he angrily left the words “I'm not doing it” behind and tried to walk out.
But not only did he fail to leave, the director clung to him shamelessly.
After refusing several times, he stormed off. With the start of filming looking hopeless, Yu Xian volunteered to become a “ruffling-hair expert” and somehow coaxed this difficult man onto the set.
During the script read-throughs, Yu Xian discovered that Yan Jin had no acting experience and was a complete novice at romance. To help him get into character quickly, Yu Xian indulged him in everything.
But when filming wrapped, Yan Jin didn't leave. Instead, he latched onto Yu Xian.
Helpless, Yu Xian assumed the other man was still too deep in character.
The drama needed time before it could air, so Yu Xian decided to travel alone, hoping to help Yan Jin get out of character and give himself time to unwind. He'd come back for publicity later, by which time Yan Jin would probably have moved on.
What he hadn't expected was that no sooner had he left than someone came chasing after him…

“Where do you think you're putting your hand?” Yu Xian hissed through gritted teeth.
The warning, warm with Yu Xian's breath, made Yan Jin flinch. He immediately pulled his hand back and sat up straight.
Before long, his hand started up again…
