There is something inside me that has been hungry for three years.
When it doesn't eat weirdness, it eats my blood.
On that night three years ago, one sixth of the world's population disappeared.
Chen Ye survived. The price is: something lives in his shadow.
The black mist known as "faceless" did not eat, drink or speak. But it moved occasionally—when he slept, when he bled, when he ran into a ruined building he shouldn't have been in. It surged out from the instep of his feet, swallowed what crawled out of the mirror, then retracted and rubbed against his trouser leg. Warm. Like the breath of someone who has just finished a hot meal.
The rating officer of the Night Watch said: Beast control ability, E level, trash.
But the rater didn't know - Faceless wasn't tamed by him, it was put into him before he was born. His mother walked into the depths of the chasm and never came back.
Now the fog began to speak of its own accord. It wrote the first line of words on the mirror——
"Are you ready? Are you ready to stop being a human?"
This is not a story about a teenager taming the weird. This is the story of a young man who discovers that there is strange blood flowing in his body and learns to make a deal with the abyss.
Now it has learned to write my name in the mirror.
