This is the story of Sha Seng, the Little White Dragon, Zhu Bajie, and Sun Wukong before they set out to fetch the scriptures.
You think they didn't meet until the pilgrimage?
Wrong.
At the bottom of the Flowing Sand River, Sha Seng has endured a thousand years of punishment through the heart when a bloodstained ledger is thrown before him:
The Glazed Lamp was a frame-up, the Monkey King was a medicinal ingredient, and Spirit Mountain's hands were stained with blood.
He breaks his chains and rescues Yu Shi, then Ao Lie.
Zhu Bajie arrives with his rake to join them. Beneath Five Thunder Mountain, Sun Wukong splits off a shadow of his soul:
"Count Old Sun in."
Five people, one ledger,
They fight their way from the riverbed to the Western Heaven, shattering golden bodies and wiping out the Buddhas!
