[Historical Romance · Lighthearted · Bickering Couple · Sweet Romance]
Shen Zhiwei is the capital's number-one jinx.
Born with a wicked tongue, whenever she curses someone, the curse rebounds, and she's always the one who suffers.
She trips on perfectly flat ground and chokes whenever she drinks water. When she curses the prince, wishing him to be "without heirs," she ends up falling into his arms, her knee landing somewhere that should not be described.
Xiao Jin, His Highness Prince Jing, has been her archenemy since childhood.
Sharp-tongued, patient, and scheming, he's observed her bad luck since they were children and figured out its patterns, allowing him to predict the direction of every rebound.
The emperor decrees their marriage, calling it "fighting poison with poison": a shrew no one dares marry and a demon king no one dares wed, paired off to torment each other.
On their wedding night, she paints her face bright red to scare him. He sees right through her and pins her beneath him instead.
A hidden guard falls from the roof, his face just a grain of rice away from the prince's crotch. She laughs so hard she slaps her thigh, while he kicks the guard with a dark expression.
When a bloodstained handkerchief appears, she pinches him so hard that blood sprays all over the bed. The matron mistakes it for the young couple being too passionate, and the two of them can't explain themselves no matter what they say.
When they go to the palace to pay their respects, she mutters that the Dowager Consort is an "old hag who ought to take a tumble." Instead, she knocks the Dowager Consort over and, by a twist of fate, cures the woman's fifteen-year-old back ailment.
Her bad luck is both a curse and a blessing.
His willingness to handle it is both exasperation and protectiveness.
As her maid A-Man cleans up after her, she grumbles, "Your mouth is faster than Chef Liu's knife, Your Highness!"
The guard Leng Qi falls in love with A-Man and betrays the prince to join the heroine's team, all for the sake of winning her heart.
Shen Zhiwei: "Your Highness, I curse you to never be able to leave me in this life."
Xiao Jin: "I accept."
