My Girlfriend Is the Heavenly Dao

Sun Kong figured he was probably the first cultivator in all of history to bargain with Heaven.

The Heavenly Dao gave him missions: collect divine treasures, eliminate monsters, and maintain world peace.

He asked the Heavenly Dao, “What's in it for me?”

The Heavenly Dao replied, “I can keep you company.”

Sun Kong: “?”

Only later did he learn that the will of the Heavenly Dao, which governed the workings of the world, was actually a girl named Ji Ruxue. She could get embarrassed, sulk, and secretly care about people. After thousands of years with no one to talk to, she'd finally managed to connect with him, and was awkwardly and clumsily learning how to get along with another person.

Doing missions, fighting monsters, collecting fragments of divine artifacts... Sun Kong found that his daily life had gone from righting wrongs to cheering up the Heavenly Dao every day.

“Xiaoxue, can you project yourself so I can see you?”

“Xiaoxue, there's so much delicious food in the human world. Want me to take you to try some?”

“Xiaoxue, you look really beautiful like this.”

Then one day, he realized he might be doing more than just completing missions.

[Sweet romance + System missions + lighthearted comedy + tearjerking twists later on]
