[Partial gender transformation + apocalypse + System + urban setting + supernatural abilities]
After his night shift at the electronics factory, worker Lin Mo found himself facing the end of the world.
The streets were filled with people biting each other, a scene far bloodier than any horror movie. He fought for his life to get back to his rental apartment, then locked himself inside the tiny room on the fifth floor. The walls were thin. From next door came the sounds of the pretty young neighbor being devoured by zombies: bones cracking, flesh tearing, screams turning from shrill to hoarse, and chewing that went on for over an hour.
Three days later, his food ran out, and he was forced to scavenge. While searching for canned food at the neighbor's place, the young woman, now just an upper torso, suddenly crawled toward him and left a bite mark on his ankle. He stomped on her head with all his strength, then rushed back to his room clutching the cans. The wound turned purple. He ran a high fever for three days and three nights. He thought he was done for.
When he woke up, he had two new mounds of soft flesh on his chest. His skin was as pale as wallpaper, and all he could manage was a hoarse, breathy rasp.
The System's voice exploded in his mind: “Congratulations, Host! You're one in a hundred million lucky winners. Half of the zombie virus invading your body has been successfully intercepted. Current status: half-human, half-zombie. Want to recover your normal human functions? Kill zombies and level up.”
And so, amid the ruins of the apocalypse, a “goddess” with white hair and violet eyes, able to control zombies, was born. That's what the survivors called her, and what her enemies called her too. She couldn't be bothered to explain.
She had only one goal now: kill enough zombies to reach the maximum level and recover everything she'd lost as a “human.” As for her appearance? Whatever. This face was pretty intimidating in a fight, anyway.
The problem was, the zombies in this city seemed to be getting stranger and stranger.
