In the Rhodes Island A2 Reserve Operations Squad lounge, it was time for Su Mo’s daily item draw again. He had just closed his eyes when a faint glow appeared in his palm

“Su Mo, Su Mo, I’m hungry!” Ceobe leaped onto his back and wrapped her arms around his neck. Rosmontis, curled up in his arms, woke with a start and sleepily wrapped her arms around his waist. “Su Mo… hug me…”

The item’s glow flickered twice, nearly breaking off. Before Su Mo could steady himself, Witch’s Soul was already crouching in front of his knees, looking up at him with an obedient smile. “Brother Su Mo, I want that doll.” Behind her stood a coerced Puffer, her face filled with utter despair.

“Boss!” A dull thud came from the ceiling, and Bubble dropped from above, landing squarely on his shoulder. “Who are we fighting today!”

Su Mo was buried under a whole squad of little girls. The item that had just appeared in his hand, a glittering magic wand, was snatched up by Ceobe, who bit down on it and muttered, “Can I chew this?”

In the corner, Sussurro stamped her feet while holding up a document. “I told you, I’m eighteen! I’m an adult!”

Su Mo struggled to poke half his face out of the pile and gazed at the crack Bubble had made in the ceiling, sighing to himself. Fine, he could put the cruelty of this land aside for now. Today, the A2 squad was once again running smoothly amid all the chaos.
