Introduction to the work
Twenty-seven-year-old architectural designer Lu Chenzhou moved into an old community without an elevator in the twenty-seventh autumn of his life. He is silent, cold, and solitary, like a locked house, and he himself threw the key into the ruins many years ago. After his parents divorced and his best friend betrayed him and took away all his savings, he no longer believed in any approaching warmth.
Next door lives 22-year-old illustrator Wen Yubai. He is gentle, clean, and has a pear-shaped smile, but he is also sensitive, has low self-esteem, and is used to crying silently while holding a paintbrush late at night. People who grow up being denied by their original family are cautious even in their dreams.
Two lonely souls who should have never met each other, separated by an old wall and two rusty anti-theft railings, moved closer and closer, from a nod to leaving a light on late at night, from a roll of sulfuric acid paper in the rain to waiting with a high fever all night. Lu Chenzhou used his silent preference to catch Wen Yubai's brokenness little by little, and Wen Yubai used his gentle brush to illuminate Lu Chenzhou's wasteland inch by inch.
They are each other's light and fish for each other.
This is not a grand redemption, but a long process of two incomplete people slowly learning to be loved and then learning to love in ordinary and trivial daily life. From the first time we met next to each other, to staying together year after year.
The past is all prologue. The sunken boat meets white, and finally sees the light of day.
